OP Perseverance: Tuskeegee Commemorative Weekend

  • Merchandise and other support roles for non-jumpers.
  • Qualified and current jumpers.
  • RCPT approved Jumpmaster. JMs are automatically considered jumpers, and don't need to double register.


RCPT-USA is pleased share our gratitude in conducting a special jump event to honor the storied paratroopers of the 555th Parachute Infantry Battalion (“Triple Nickles”) as we announce Operation Perseverance February 14th - 16th at Tuskegee Alabama.  The three day jump event will also feature tours of the historic sites and events celebrating the military and civil rights impact of made by the Triple Nickles and the Tuskegee airmen.  By joining the awareness of these two causes during Black History Month, we will honor the sacrifices of all African American soldiers and airmen.

DZ & Depature Airfield: Moton Municipal Field, Tuskegee, Alabama

ABC:  James Wilson

Aircraft: C-47 (Specific TBD)

Costs: TBD

Specific times: TBD

Uniform: M42, white t-shirt, brown Corcoran boots, suitable helmet (M1C with concussion padding, RCPT or DOD approved bump helmets, etc.).  No equipment.

Quarters: TBA.  Best hotel options are about 30 miles off DZ.

Parachutes and reserves: Will be available for rental.  Personal parachutes must be SF-10, MC-1, or SET-10 canopies on standard harnesses, reserves MIRPS-SLCP or MIRPS, standard deployment bag system, no modified gear.  

Parachute riggers will be available.

Plan is for at least one cycle of lifts per day.

This is not an "airshow".  Airshow requirements do not apply for jumpers.  However, individual jumpers may be screened as required.  Currency requirements are 180 days, steerable canopy experience.

  • Columbus Metro (CSG - 51 miles/1 hour)
  • Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International (ATL - 115 miles/1 hour, 45 minutes)
  • Dothan Regional (DHN - 100 miles/2 hours)
